This is a large old snapper and she is looking for a nice sandy spot to lay her eggs. Snappy is a stunning piece that is sure to evoke comments and grab the viewers attention.Many people have told me that there reaction is they felt the presence of a real turtle. This piece is made from salvaged metals.  The shell is made from a dome off a propane tank.  The body is made from rebar and old plate steel. The piece has extensive patinas, with tones of brown, black and moss green wash on its shell.  The white on the legs was achieved by leaving on the flux residue. The actual sculpture may have a slighty different pose or gesture, which I am willing to negotiate with the patron.
